The solid cementitious structure defines its core material characteristics. High-quality cement backer boards normally control water absorption rate below 10%. Even under continuous immersion and long-term damp exposure, the panel will not deform, rot or delaminate. The internal fiberglass mesh evenly disperses external impact force, effectively resisting concentrated load and shock, an advantage that lightweight foam composite boards cannot match. The rigid cement surface provides stable base conditions for natural stone, heavy porcelain tiles and high-load commercial ground paving. Nevertheless, buyers should understand its material limitations: cement-based panels are relatively heavy, and on-site cutting generates obvious silica dust, requiring proper protective measures for construction teams.

In terms of application positioning, cement-based backer boards are irreplaceable for high-demand wet areas. Shower room floors, public bathhouse wet zones, swimming pool surrounding floors and commercial kitchen ground all belong to typical applicable scenarios. For these locations with continuous water contact and heavy pedestrian load, cement backer boards guarantee decades of stable base performance. In exterior wall tiling projects exposed to wind, rain and extreme temperature variation, its low thermal expansion coefficient effectively avoids substrate deformation and tile cracking. Meanwhile, it is widely adopted for ground substrate in shopping malls, hotel public corridors and underground parking lots with high load requirements.

Important technical reminder: cement-based backer boards are water-resistant rather than fully waterproof. For fully enclosed shower enclosures, contractors still need to complete systematic waterproof treatment on joints and corners. Our factory produces multiple grades of cement backer boards with different density and thickness options. All products pass repeated durability testing and can meet strict engineering standards. Factory production photos, test reports and CE certification documents are provided to support overseas tender and customs clearance. Custom sizes can be produced according to project drawings to satisfy large-scale commercial construction demands

Cement-based tile backer boards occupy an important position in high-standard wet-area construction. To maximise service life and avoid common tiling failures, overseas contractors and distributors must follow standard installation specifications and adopt targeted procurement screening standards according to project working conditions.

During installation, staggered joint layout is required; panel seams cannot align with subfloor joints. A 3–5 mm expansion gap shall be reserved between panels, and gaps between panels and surrounding walls should be maintained properly. After cutting panels, all cutting edges shall be cleaned of dust. All joints must be covered with fiberglass tape and filled with waterproof mortar. For shower room internal corners, wall-floor junctions and pipe penetrations, additional waterproof membrane and sealing tape treatment are essential. Fasteners should be placed 20–30 mm away from panel edges with uniform spacing to prevent edge cracking. Due to heavy weight, two workers are usually required for handling large-size panels. Cutting work should be carried out with dust collection equipment to comply with EU and North America occupational health regulations.

When purchasing cement-based backer boards, project parties must classify selection based on load and humidity level. For light-load indoor dry walls, medium-density specifications are acceptable. For shower floors, public wet areas and exterior ground, high-density, high-impact resistant grades are mandatory. Key procurement indicators include water absorption rate, flexural strength, impact resistance and fiberglass mesh distribution uniformity. Buyers should reject products with uneven raw material mixing, exposed mesh and loose surface layers. Many overseas engineering projects require suppliers to provide third-party test reports, batch quality certificates and CE certification before signing formal contracts
